Everyone thinks about environmental awareness as being recycling or waste removed from site, however drainage also plays a key part and especially as no-one can really see it. Pollutants can enter the drain from a number of locations which may then possibly enter a water course causing a signifiacnt impact on the environment and the wildlife that live within it. We help clients understand their responsibilites and possible areas where their activities may cause an issue and then assist in ensurring that they have the relevant controls in place. For example this could be carried out using CCTV surveying, sonar tracing, dye testing or water testing.
As part of our service we aim to offer advice on spill and pollution containment so that our clients can make the best decision to suit their business and site needs. We not only carry out CCTV surveying, but can also use topographical surveying and spill mapping to simulate a disaster as set out in CIRIA 736 section 4. The aim of this is to deliver a report with a single plan that evidences a sites ability to control a major event and allow correct evidence to support investment where necessary. As part of this process we can also supply and install automated valves and control systems which can be mains or solar powered, with interfaces availible to react with fire alarms or sensors for example. They can also be linkec to a cloud based monitoring system so that records of closures are maintained.

The ISO 14001 accreditation requires a site drainage plan which identifies all drains on site and their use. This is what we offer. A full drainage plan of sites, including foul, storm and effluent drainage, all being separately colour coded and clearly identifiable with the direction of flows etc. These plans can be completed as a basic drawing or as a full AutoCAD package.
